309, 309S, and 309H Stainless Steel Pipe & Tube

Stainless steel 309 is available in seamless and welded forms. We can provide 309 welded pipe and tube up-to 120″ diameter with reduced lead times. 309S is the low carbon version of 309, whereas 309H is the high carbon version. Oftentimes, 309, 309S, and 309H can meet the requirements of all 3 variants of the grade.

General Properties

Alloys 309 is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steels that is used for higher temperature applications. 309 has increased chromium and nickel, increasing its corrosion advantages compared to 304 stainless steel.

Specifications: UNS S30900/S30908

Applications:

The 309 alloys are often used for their high temperature oxidation resistance in the following applications:

  • Furnaces
  • Paper Mill Equipment
  • Petroleum Refining
  • Power Generation
  • Thermal Processing
  • Waste Treatment
