317L Stainless Steel Pipe & Tube

Stainless steel 317L is available in from inventory in seamless pipe. We can provide 317L welded pipe and tube up-to 120″ diameter with reduced lead times.

 

General Properties

Alloy 317L contains molybdenum and is a low carbon austenitic stainless steel with increased additions of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum over 304/L or 316/L stainless steel grades for better corrosion resistance. 317/L also offers resistance to chemical attack for sulfurous, acetic, formic, citric, and tartaric acids.

Applications

Alloy 317L is commonly used to handle sulfur, pulp liquor, acid dyestuffs, acetylating and nitrating mixtures, bleaching solutions, severe coal and oil, and many chemical compounds. Some other applications that use alloy 317L include:

  • Paper and pulp
  • Chemical and petrochemical
  • Power Generation
