General Properties

Chrome Moly P22 stainless is highly resistant to cracking from hydrogen attack, as well as hot sulfide corrosion cracking. Chrome Moly P22 has a better overall strength to weight ratio than steel, which allows for reduced weight and thinner walls in P22 products. This grade of steel has strong resistance to rupturing and high pressures and/or temperatures, and is designed for high temperature and pressure services.  Chrome Moly P22 is used in the power generation industry, the petro-chemical industry, the petroleum industry, and in high temperature applications because of its tensile strength, corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength.
