General Properties

Chrome Moly P9  stainless is designed for high temperature and pressure services.  Chrome Moly P9 is used in the power generation industry and the petro-chemical industry because of its tensile strength, corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength.  Chrome Moly P9 has a better strength to weight ratio than steel, allowing producers to reduce overall weight and create thinner walls. Also, this grade shows strong resistance to rupturing at high pressures and/or temperatures.  Lastly, Chrome Moly P9 is very  resistant to cracking from hydrogen attack and hot sulfide corrosion cracking. P9 is one of the less commonly used grades of Chrome Moly.
