6 Moly grades have superior resistance to many chemicals thanks to their high levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen. This makes them optimal for use in high chloride environments like brackish water, seawater, and pulp mill beach plants. 6 Moly grades also provide a cost-efficient replacement for nickel-based alloys and titanium.

6 Moly grades profit from molybdenum’s high melting point. Molybdenum is used as an alloying agent in specific grades of steel, Permalloys and Stellites (a series of alloys which contain varying proportions of Cr, Co, W and Mo, are very hard and are used in cutting tools and to protect surfaces subject to heavy wear).
